Tribune Broadcasting Inks Deal with Fuze Artz to Rebrand Q13 FOX Seattle News – The "Trust" News Theme Debuts 5pm

LOS ANGELES, California (October 7, 2011) – Fuze Artz and their news-branding partner, inthegroovemusic, have crafted "Trust," a modern, indie-rock news theme and music package for Tribune station, KCPQ (Q13 FOX) Seattle.  The package sets a style and tone for keeping today’s fast paced newsroom more credible and market relevant.  The new theme debuts on the station’s 5pm Newscast, Monday October 10, 2011.

“We were interested in finding news music that broke the cliché,” says Jim Crownover, Director of Creative Services.  “We had become frustrated with the lack of options when Fuze Artz approached us with an offer we couldn’t refuse.  They would compose a package and use our objectives as their guide. There was no commitment on our part, but we were so involved in the project from the beginning that the outcome ended up being exactly what we were looking for.  Now we feel like our on-air-news presentation will truly represent the attitude of Q13 FOX.”

“When it comes to news branding, we’re not convinced that one size fits all,” said Fuze Artz owner/producer, Cindy Rosmann.  “We think stations need more flexibility and, certainly, they deserve more choice. You can’t get this with an off-the-shelf news package so we decided to take a chance on doing things a little differently and it paid off.  "Trust" was built to order and delivers a spectrum of tracks encompassing a range of emotions. The station can crank up the intensity for breaking news or dial it back for lighter morning show banter,” added Rosmann.

Composers Brian Reidinger and Darren Drew (inthegroovemusic) stand out when change is needed to separate from the competition.  Counter-culture would be a fair assessment of their process.  They are creating news music that doesn’t sound like everyone else–not the old school approach of quantity: 300 tracks, of which 250 are dated.  Stations get useable, flexible and made-to-order tracks from the ground up.
